Meeting of the Directors-General for Civil Protection of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Took Place in Poland
Director of the Fire and Rescue Department Renatas Požėla and Advisor of the Department Tatjana Milkamanovič participated in the 24th Meeting of the Directors-General for Civil Protection of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) on 16–18 June 2026.
The Baltic Sea States participating in the Meeting shared the latest information on achievements and activities in the field of civil protection in their respective countries. The Meeting also addressed the results achieved during Poland’s Presidency of the CBSS. During this presidency the attention was focused on specific priority areas of civil protection, and current challenges as well as new needs in strengthening the macroregional resilience and preparedness.
The Meeting concluded with a ceremonial presentation of the Presidency Bell to representatives of the new chair country. This symbolic gesture ushered in a new term, giving Iceland the opportunity to implement the presented objectives and continue its mission of building a stable and secure Baltic Sea region.
