Meeting of Directors-General of the Three Baltic Fire and Rescue Services Takes Place in Palanga
On 2–4 December 2024 Directors-General of the three Baltic Fire and Rescue Services meet in Palanga, Lithuania. The aim of this Meeting is to strengthen cooperation and discuss topical issues affecting Fire and Rescue Services in the three Baltic States.
The meetings will focus on cooperation in the field of civil protection during military conflicts, follow-up to the recommendations of the European Commission’s advisory mission and sharing experiences on the involvement of volunteers in civil protection activities. Each country will present an update on recent activities, developments and results of the 2024, priorities for the coming year and joint plans.
BaltFloodCombat (High-Capacity Pumping Module consisting of members from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia) Steering Group Meeting also takes place in Palanga. This year, Lithuania is chairing the Module’s Board, so the meeting is organized in Lithuania. Module members from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia discuss the works carried out, address organizational issues, plan activities and budget for 2025.
The Meeting will end by the signing of the Action Plan for 2025 by the Deputy Directors of the Services and the handover of the Presidency to Latvia.
