Cooperation Discussed During the Meeting of Directors-General of Fire and Rescue Services of the Baltic States
On 1–3 December 2025 the Director of the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – the Department) Renatas Požėla and the delegation took part in the Meeting of Directors-General of Fire and Rescue Services in Sigulda, Latvia.
The meeting was a great opportunity to review the activities and cooperation of the fire and rescue services in 2025, to outline guidelines for trilateral cooperation in 2026, to exchange the information on the financing of the services and priorities for the coming year, to discuss statistics and tendencies in firefighting and rescue operations, national priorities in the field of civil protection, joint projects, and further trilateral actions following the European Commission’s advisory mission to the Baltic countries on mass evacuation.
BaltFloodCombat Steering Group Meeting also took place in Sigulda. It was attended by the Deputy Director of the Department Kęstutis Agintas, Head of the Forces Management Board of the Department Gediminas Šukšta and Head of the Operational Management Division of Forces Management Board of the Department Jan Pavliukoic.
