Cooperation Agreement Signed

On the 4th of May 2022, which is known and celebrated as St Florian’s Day – professional holiday of firefighters, Mr Waldemar Pawlak, President of the Union of Volunteer Firefighters of the Republic of Poland and Mr Wiesław Leśniakiewicz, Vice-President of the Union of Volunteer Firefighters of the Republic of Poland, visited Vilnius.

During the festive event, Mr Waldemar Pawlak and Mr Saulius Greičius, Director of the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania have signed the Agreement on Cooperation between the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and Volunteer Union of Firefighters of the Republic of Poland in the Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

“We appreciate a long tradition of volunteer firefighters of Poland, therefore, by signing this Agreement we aim to strengthen international cooperation in the field of volunteer firefighters. We strongly believe that close cooperation with the Union of Volunteer Firefighters of the Republic of Poland will help to further develop volunteer firefighters in Lithuania, share experience and form traditions of volunteer firefighters in Lithuania,” said Mr Saulius Greičius.

The Agreement aims at sharing good practice by promoting exchange of information related to volunteer firefighters and organization of common meetings.
